Happiness is a central theme of Buddhist teachings. For the ultimate freedom from suffering, the Noble Eightfold Path leads its practitioner to Nirvana, the realm of eternal peace. Buddhism encourages love, kindness and compassion, a desire for the happiness and well-being of all beings.


Hindu religion

The purpose of life in Advaita Vedanta is happiness. In the sense the duality between the soul and the Brahman is transcended and one realizes that he is within himself.
